About Me

I was trained at The Chicago Academy of Fine Art and had courses in various media in Vermont, Colorado and Florida. I have developed my technique in both pastel portraits, mainly in children's portraits, and to pen & ink renderings of buildings, homes, churches, bed & breakfast hotels and any other beautiful form of architecture. I love houses and people, but I also do pets. I have a "day job" in a local retirement community where I love looking into the faces of my residents there and for every wrinkle there's a story behind it. I work on a commission basis and like to work from several photographs. If possible, I take my own.
It takes about 2 weeks to complete a portrait. Prices are available by contacting me directly through this site.

Things I like most about St. Petersburg

I love the Downtown area with it's beautiful parks and bayfront shops and restaurants. The people are a bit more my style than in Clearwater or even Tampa. A bit more liberal, I think. It seems as though there's a good mix of artists and creative types.

My Interests & Hobbies

Drawing, painting, plein aire sketching, photographing, traveling, dancing, singing, talking and dining with friends. I also love to walk the beach, go to wine and art fests, and shop. Tyrone Mall is not my favorite mall though. I prefer Corey Avenue, Dunedin and Safety Harbor as more enjoyable to stroll around on a Saturday afternoon.

My favorite way to experience St. Pete the way locals do

Ride my bike around the Vinoy and streets of Old Northeast, along the bayfront parks and marina all the way south to Fishtales on the water for a sandwich and a cold one.

My favorite local event(s)

Art Festival at Vinoy Park. Or the musical concerts and rib fests held there at different times of year. I live Downtown so that's why I bought a bike.

Breakfast at Tiffany's, White Knights, Les Miserables, The Phantom of the Opera, Rent, and Mamma Mia (the movie).

Favorite artist (of any medium)

Renoir, (and most other Impressionists) I also especially love Mary Cassat.
