The Film Florida Legislative meeting underlined some basic points in what is happening and what has to happen to change it. Florida is not getting much in the way of film productions despite its natural plus points. As a result, production crews, stunt companies and actors are leaving Florida to go to States where films are being produced at greater volume. This not only effects the economy of those directly connected, but it also effects Tourism - Florida's number one industry. The solution is to compete with TAX CREDITS instead of piddling amounts of taxpayer dollars. That's what the Bean Counters at major production companies are looking for. And, that way, the promotion incentives for film are not up against thigs like Education and Healthcare as a budget item. There will be a Bill coming out that needs to be supported by all of our State representatives. Get i their face and let them know that Film Production is important to Florida.
